Cancun is shaped like a number "7" and is fourteen miles long. The water inside the seven shaped island is known as the lagoon. The northern part of the island has many small hotels on both the the lagoon side and the ocean side of the street.

Punta Cancun better know for it's parties is at the point of the seven shaped island. Although there are many night clubs, restaurants, bars and shops throughout Cancun, this is where the most are concentrated.
